Saturday morning Kory and I decided to venture out to the local thrift shops in search of some unique/old/used furniture. Personally, I do not really get excited about “digging” for stuff in stores, but for furniture I figured it could not be so bad. (My Motto: It should all be in nice little rows where you can see it all in one walk through.) After arriving too early to one shop, we went to check out Rolling Hills Ministry (http://www.rollinghillsministries.com/). Over the years I have donated car loads by way of the drop off room , but I had never been inside the store. Now that they have expanded, Kory and I were really curious to see everything they were offering to our community. I was blown away and I think Kory was too! Rolling Hills is such an awesome ministry! First of all when we got there, the parking lot was almost full and that says a lot. Then when we walked it, I was awed by the organization of the entire store….for the most part not to have two items the same and keep things so streamlined was awesome! I was drawn in and wanted to see more! We ended up spending at least an hour shopping and left 3 bags full of stuff for $30!! I am still so excited about my finds!! More pictures to come in later posts to show off our “gold”.
We did end our day at another shop were I found an adorable outdoor children’s table and chairs that needed some TLC, but Kory was not feeling my same vibe about it. So, the only thing we bought was a pair of $30 knee pads for only $1!!! Kory was soooo excited that he came home and finished scraping up our old 80s floor (recently pulled up all our flooring….).
All in all we had a great Saturday morning adventure even if we did not end up with anything we intended. I am thinking next time we are going to try venturing to garage and/or estate sales….who am I?!?! ;)
One of my great finds:
Wouldn’t this look better on someone?!?!!?
Last week we had a blast with my cousins shooting some laid back pictures in the Louisiana heat. They kept talking about how hot it was, but I think we were all having so much fun it didn’t matter. I think the tiny chairs were appropriate since they would have fit in those chairs perfectly the first time Kory met them. Man how time flies, going from playing with them when they were 2 to them playing with Kate at age 2! Ciaran and Aidan we had so much fun with ya’ll this past week. We love you guys and we miss you already. Enjoy your pics!
Apparently this has been going around for quite some time, but today was the first time I came across it. Everything it says is the truth, and while it sounds simple, putting all those pieces together is extremely hard. I think the best any of us can do is take each day as a blessing and strive to make the very best of it.
We put together a video slideshow of the recent engagement session with Josh and Carley. Can’t wait to work with these guys more. Enjoy!
A couple of weekends ago we had the opportunity to get to know and photograph Josh and Carley and not even 15 minutes into the session, we were feeling the love. They made loving each other look so easy and that made our job, in the blazing heat of a Louisiana summer, so much fun!
Carley, I absolutely loved all your fun summer dresses. Both of you were such troopers in the heat and I am sure the dogs got a few extra treats that day for being troopers too!
You guys are great and we can’t wait for the ceremony in September!
